SUPPORTING ORGANIZATIONS

First Preservation Services

First Preservation Services offers HMPS pro bono architectural services. They specialize in strategic planning and capital fund raising solutions for small to medium sized non-profit and community organizations. Our focus is helping organizations with their historic preservation, capital, maintenance, adaptive use, and sustainability needs. In addition to assisting historical societies and preservation organizations, we provide consultative services to library, school, church, recreational, and community organization projects.

NOTE: An emerging client base are those organizations who have raised some funding on their own yet find themselves short of their ultimate goal.  Realizing professional help is needed and available that tailors programs to their specific needs and budget, several clients are finding success with First Preservation Services customized plans.

Citadel DCA

For over thirty years, Gemma de la Fuente and Lynn Scott Paden have been dedicated to the preservation of historic structures and sites which define the past, serving as vessels of our collective memory. The cultural patrimony in which we live, work and play is an irreplaceable resource that provides our future generations the unique opportunity to understand the present, through the reading of the past.

Unlike other cultural objects, buildings must continue to serve their occupants, even as the surrounding world changes, putting more demands upon them. The challenge as preservation architects, is then two fold. How do we maintain usefulness while protecting the fabric and characteristics that define them as historic artifacts?
