About Me
My Good/Gut ancestors settled in Conoy Twp. in 1737 to the immediate north of Good's Mennonite Meeting House. I wonder if Jacob Good/Gut came into the area, land hunting, over Peter's Road? If he ever crossed the river on the ferry at present day Bainbridge? If he saw or met the Conoy's Chief Old Sack? As farmers, I wonder if any of my ancestors brought grain to Locust Grove in the 1790's for milling, if they bought lumber from the Haldeman's saw mill, even though they lived in log cabins in 1798? As Mennonites, I'm quite sure they did not purchase any of Haldeman's distilled spirits! Post a CommentOops! The words you entered did not match the given text. Please try again. 0 Comments |
